 Smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol not sins – Pastor Damina Pastor Abel Damina, founder of Abel Damina Ministries and Power City International, has sparked debate by declaring that smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol are not sins. Speaking during his New Year’s Eve sermon on Tuesday, Damina argued that these acts are often misrepresented as sinful when they are not inherently so. “I’ve told you alcohol is not a sin. I’ve told you cigar is not a sin. If you like, put it on newspaper headline, I said it,” Damina stated. However, he made it clear that he was not encouraging such behaviors, cautioning his audience to exercise wisdom. “Am I saying you should smoke? You should have sense from your father’s house to know that cigar will cut short your life. Am I saying you should drink alcohol? You should know that if you drink alcohol, you will lie down inside a gutter. Your shirt and trousers will disappear. You should have the sense to know that.” Damina’s sermon also addressed ...

A COMMUNITY IS DEMANDING ANSWERS AFTER POLICE IN KENTUCKY TAKE A MAN'S LIFE WHILE SERVING A WARRANT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. (PHOTO).

 A community is demanding answers after police in Kentucky take a man's life while serving a warrant to the WRONG address. 


Neighbors of 61-year-old Doug Harless are in complete shock and disbelief after police took his life in a hail of gunfire on December 23rd. 


According to reports, London, Kentucky PD were serving a search warrant in regards to a "stolen weed eater" on Vanzant road in Laurel County. However police had executed the warrant two doors down from the actual address.


Police say they were forced to open fire after Doug pointed a gun at them. However a neighbor's surveillance camera showed them banging on the door until they forced entry. There is no evidence showing that Doug knew the police were getting ready to break into his home. Police fired approximately 5 rounds mere seconds after entry was made into Doug's home. 


Neighbors describe Doug as a quiet and humble person who was "a really good neighbor". Now community members are demanding justice for his senseless death due to police error.


London Mayor Randall Weddle said his office will closely follow the investigation that is now in the hands of Kentucky State Police. He stated his heart goes out to everyone affected by this incident. He ended his statement by saying he is limited on what he can say due to it being an open investigation. 


Our thoughts are with the family, friends and neighbors of Doug Harless as they deal with his untimely passing in such a controversial manner.


One neighbor reached out to share that "Doug always greeted everyone with a genuine smile".

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
