 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  SANWO-OLU APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES 


Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of three new Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service. 


The new appointees are Mr. Abdul Rafiu Omowole Fashola, Director, Administration & Human Resources and Secretary, Staff Housing & Loans Board; Mrs. Kaphayah Olayemi Sarumi, Director, State Counsel, Lagos State Waterways Authority, and Mr. Abdul-Rasheed Abiola Muri-Okunola, Director, Administration & Human Resources and General Manager, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA).


The Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro expressed confidence in the capabilities and competencies of the new appointees, just as he affirmed recognition of their diligence, commitment, intellectual capacity, and dedication to effective service delivery.


While wishing them a most rewarding and impactful tenure of Office, the Head of Service stated that the appointments shall be with effect from 31st of December, 2024, He also added that their deployment will be announced in due course.
