 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026.  More Residents Participate In Amawbia Walk For Life Exercise

The enthusiasm of Amawbia residents in physical fitness has continued to increase since the introduction of the Walk for Life exercise by Hon Chukwuma Okoye.


The 5th edition of the exercise  kicked off from the  Central Primary School Amawbia through major internal roads in the community on December 31.


According to the Sponsor, Rt. Hon Chukwuma Okoye, Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Awka South II Constituency, the annual event is to enhance healthy living among the people, which aligns with the healthy living program of Anambra State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.


He reemphasized the importance of exercise in human life, noting that a healthy body is a healthy mind, assuring to sustain  the initiative, explaining that part of the reason for embarking on the yearly exercise in not only for sports but unity of the town.


Mr. Ebele Nwufo, former President General of Amawbia town and Mr. Emeka Nworah, the new Deputy PG elect, in their separate remarks, thanked Rt. Hon Okoye for keeping to his promise, sponsoring the Amawbia Walk for five years.


Some of the participants who commended the initiative, described it as refreshing and important toward enhancing the physical well-being of the people, noting that it will trigger greater productivity in all sectors of life.


The event featured health check and light refreshments.
