 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.  Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore to face arraignment

Former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday in connection with assault allegations.

Moore, 39, has been in custody since his Wednesday arrest but has not yet been formally charged. Pittsfield Township police, near Ann Arbor, responded Wednesday afternoon to a call from a woman reporting that a man had been attacking her and had been stalking her for several months. Authorities indicated the incident does not appear to be random.

The University of Michigan announced Wednesday that Moore, a married father of three, was terminated with cause. The university stated that credible evidence showed Moore had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. University President Domenico Grasso addressed the campus community, urging anyone with information about Moore’s behavior to come forward and emphasizing that such conduct would not be tolerated.

Moore had been in his second season as head coach, taking over from Jim Harbaugh, and compiled an 18-8 record, including 9-3 this season. The Wolverines are scheduled to face the Texas Longhorns in the Citrus Bowl, which will now be led by interim coach Biff Poggi.
