 ZIMBABWEAN COUPLE DEPORTED OVER SECRET BURIAL OF CHILD IN BOTSWANA A Zimbabwean couple has been deported from Botswana after secretly burying their child without notifying authorities. Motilinah Mpofu and Christopher Ncube were convicted on Thursday of concealing a death after they allegedly dug a grave for their child in the dead of night. The Gaborone court heard the child had died suddenly. Instead of reporting the death to police, health officials, or traditional leaders, the couple quietly buried the youngster and hoped no one would find out. But the secret did not stay buried for long.   Police moved in and arrested the pair. In sentencing, the court ordered that the couple be taken to the Plumtree Border Post for deportation to Zimbabwe.  Top Botswana lawyer Winnie Masitha who offered the couple free legal representation during the trial, confirmed the deportation to BTV News.  “There will be no need for Biafra again. In the past, South East were not just the last but we were forgotten, we were not remembered but President Tinubu remembered us. All South East Governors are Supporting President Tinubu- Engr David Umahi (Minister of Works)


Minister for Works Senator Davis Umahi has announced that the aggregation for a Republic of Biafra has been laid to rest following the inclusion of the South East geopolitical zone and the opening of socioeconomic frontiers of the zone by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.


Umahi made this assertion while on inspection tour of the ongoing Enugu–Anambra Road mega projects, where he addressed stakeholders, contractors, and community leaders.


He explained that the historical push for Biafran secession was born out of years of neglect, exclusion, and underrepresentation at the federal level.


“But today, that narrative has shifted dramatically under President Tinubu.


The Minister emphasized that President Tinubu has bridged the long-standing gaps by deliberately opening the doors of national development to the Southeast.


“Every sector in Nigeria now carries a visible imprint of Igbo interest,” Umahi noted, stressing that appointments, policy inputs, and infrastructural priorities now reflect true federal balance.


He highlighted that the Southeast has received its full quota in national appointments, citing his own emergence as Minister of Works, along with several other strategic and “juicy” positions given to Igbo sons and daughters in the current administration.


Umahi further pointed out that life-changing projects are springing up across all states in the Southeast, many of which were considered impossible in previous administrations.


“When a people are fully integrated, respected, and empowered within the structure of the nation, then the dream they once chased through agitation has already been achieved through cooperation.”


“Biafra was never about breaking Nigeria; it was about being counted in Nigeria. And today, through inclusion, equity, and concrete development, Ndi-Igbo are no longer spectators in the Nigerian project, they are co-authors of its future."


When justice finds a people, agitation loses its voice. When the road is finally built and the home is secured, no one needs to flee the house” he noted
