A sweet 6-year-old boy has lost his life during a day at the beach when a piece of driftwood hit him on the head. Killian Gonzalez and his sister were having a fun day at Little Squalicum Beach in Bellingham, Washington, on July 8th with their babysitter. As Killian was exploring a fort made from driftwood, something shifted, and a huge 200 pound log broke free and came tumbling straight for Killian.  Killian realized he was in danger and attempted to run, but sadly, he was not able to outrun the log. The huge log caught him in the back of the head and Killian fell to the ground. Killian was ultimately pinned to the ground under the log until help arrived. Killian's parents rushed to the beach after getting the call no parent ever wants to hear.  As they arrived, they were met by the sight of first responders desperately attempting to save their son's life.  Killian was flown to a nearby hospital that could manage his injuries.  Upon arrival, Killian was intuba...

SPORTS: PRIZE MONEY MEANT FOR THE WINNERS OF THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED FOOTBALL COMPETITION ACROSS LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN ABIA STATE HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH IN OSISIOMA NGWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT.(PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE.

 PRESS RELEASE

It has come to our attention with deep disappointment and outrage that the prize money meant for the winners of the recently concluded football competition across local governments in Abia State has been tampered with in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government.

The Abia State Government approved and released the following prize money:

₦500,000 for the 1st position, ₦250,000 for the 2nd position, and ₦100,000 for the 3rd position.

Shockingly, the teams in Osisioma Ngwa were only given ₦200,000, ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 respectively. This means that a significant portion of the funds meant to reward the hard work of our young athletes has been withheld by individuals entrusted with this responsibility.

Our youths trained, sacrificed their time and represented their communities with passion and dignity.

To cheat them of their rightful reward is not only unjust but a direct insult to the spirit of youth development the state government intends to promote.

We therefore demand the immediate and full release of the remaining prize money to the affected teams without further delay.

Let it be clearly stated: if this injustice is not corrected promptly, we will not hesitate to escalate this matter to the appropriate authorities and ensure that those responsible are held accountable before the law and before the people of Osisioma Ngwa.

The good people and youths of Osisioma Ngwa will not remain silent while funds meant for their development are diverted.

We call on the Abia State Government to urgently investigate this matter and ensure transparency in the management of all youth development programs within our local government.

Justice must be done, and it must be now.

Signed:

Osisioma Ngwa Legislative Council
