 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AKPABIO CALLS FOR PEACE AT INTER- PARLIAMENTARY UNION ASSEMBLY


President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio  at the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, called on parliaments across the world to step up as defenders of peace, justice, and humanity.


Speaking under the Assembly’s theme: Nurturing Hope, Securing Peace and Ensuring Justice for Future Generations, Akpabio warned that no region is immune to conflict, citing wars across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.


Drawing from Nigeria’s own struggles, he said peace is not inherited; it is built, defended, and sustained.


Akpabio challenged the IPU to strengthen global institutions like the United Nations and give vulnerable nations a stronger voice.

    

IPU President Tulia Ackson echoed the call, urging parliaments to provide moral clarity and decisive action against conflict and inequality.
