 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. A MEMPHIS MOTHER IS FACING SERIOUS CHARGES AFTER SHOOTING A MAN THAT SHE FOUND UNDER HER DAUGHTER'S BED.(PHOTO).

 A Memphis mother is facing serious charges after shooting a man that she found under her daughter's bed.


Officers with the Memphis Police Department were called to the 3000 block of Travis Road at approximately 1:45 a.m. Thursday, July 16th.


As officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an adult male laying in front of the home. A closer inspection would confirm the man was deceased due to a gunshot wound to the back of the head.


The investigation would lead officers straight to 36-year-old Kendra Scott. 


Kendra would admit to officers that she had shot the man, but only because she had discovered him hiding under her juvenile daughter's bed.


According to Kendra, when she discovered the man he was muttering, "I did what I had to do."


However, as the investigation continued, officers would interview the juvenile daughter. The young girl admitted to police that she had invited the man into her room. She went on to tell officers that her mother had previously threatened to shoot any boy she brought into her room.


After taking the daughter's statements, officers arrested Kendra Scott at the scene. She is facing a first-degree m***** charge and a charge of employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.


Kendra Scott is set to be arraigned on Friday, July 17th.


The man has not been identified at this time.
