German court convicts siblings over $37 million looted Egyptian artefacts A German court has convicted two siblings of money laundering over the illegal sale of ancient Egyptian artefacts, and ordered the confiscation of 32 million euros ($37 million). The brother and sister, who were not identified, were also hit with hefty fines in the case related to the objects, which allegedly came from illegal excavations in Egypt. The artefacts, which were sold for millions of euros to museums, included a bust of Cleopatra, a stone slab associated with King Tutankhamun and items from a princess's grave. The male defendant is said to have been involved in illegally trading the artefacts since 2013, according to prosecutors. He was accused of bringing several sarcophagi from the princess's grave to Germany, having them restored and then reselling them to a museum after concealing their origins.

SOUTH AFRICAN TEENAGE MOTHER TAKES BABY TO SCHOOL

SOUTH AFRICA — A teenage girl who recently gave birth was instructed by her mother to return to school with her newborn baby.

The incident, reported on 24 August 2026, has sparked nationwide discussions about teenage pregnancy, education access, and the challenges faced by young mothers trying to continue their studies while caring for infants.

Education and child welfare advocates say the case highlights the need for better support systems in schools, including childcare facilities and policies to help young parents complete their education.

The story has drawn mixed reactions online, with many praising the girl’s determination to stay in school, while others called for stronger interventions to address teenage pregnancy.
