Nigeria says its participation is aimed at deepening economic and diplomatic ties with BRICS member and partner countries, while expanding opportunities for trade, investment, technology and other critical sectors.
Vice President Kashim Shettima is leading a high-level Nigerian delegation to the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India.
The summit, which is being held under the theme, “Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” brings together leaders of BRICS member and partner countries, as well as invited international organisations.
Nigeria became a BRICS partner country in January 2025 and is using the platform to strengthen South-South cooperation and broaden its engagement with major emerging economies.
