 MOTHER, 14-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER DIE IN ANAMBRA BUILDING COLLAPSE By Chinyere Nwoye  A three-storey building under construction has collapsed at Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, killing a woman and her 14-year-old daughter. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, October 8, at No. 11 Emeka Ugwuanyi Street, by Anabanaba, Okpoko, amid heavy rainfall. The collapsed structure reportedly fell on a boys’ quarters located close to the building, trapping occupants who were inside at the time of the incident. The victims were identified as Mrs Happiness Ugoagu and her 14-year-old daughter, Miss Confidence, both indigenes of Uga in Aguata Local Government Area.  They were reportedly asleep when the building collapsed on the boys’ quarters. Following the incident, residents, sympathisers and emergency responders immediately mobilised to the scene in an effort to rescue the trapped persons and clear the debris.                                                                    Today wednesday,21 inmates were freed by the Chief Judge of Lagos state Justice Oluwafunmilayo Atilade.The release was in exercise of the powers conferred on her under section 1 {1} of the Criminal Justice Release from Custoday Act Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2007.Most of the inmates released were those who have spent more time than they would have if convicted of the crimes for which they are facing trial.Admonishing the lucky inmates,Justice Atilade urged them to keep away from crime and henceforth be of good behaviour.Justice Atilade said her visit to the prison to release inmates would be a continuous exercise.''Those of you released should henceforth be of good behaviour.The state government is committed to a crime free Lagos and any one found...

                  A Hospital source said,Bomb's found at an abandoned strong hold of Boko Haram Islamist exploded,killing at least 13 people and injuring 45 others.The two devices went off as people were taking them past a market to be defused at a military base yesterday tuesday afternoon.The two explosives were found in a bag on the side of a road outside the town of Monguno in Borno state.Umar Zanna,a member of a Local militia force set up to defend the town said ''The bombs killed 10 of our members and three other persons nearby''.A Doctor from the hospital where the 45 people are being treated {name with held} said ''we have commenced treatment of the 45 people who were injured from the blast''

                     The United State female football tean,had knocked out Nigeria from the World cup,with just one golden right kick from a U.S player Abby Wamback.The scores ended in 1-0.So now the U.S female team have qualified to be in Group D in the World Cup.The United States dominated Nigeria from the opening kick,but it too until the 45th minutes for the Americans to finally get on the scoreboard.Abby Wambach capitalized on a perfect cross from Megan Rapinoe to put team USA up 1-0.The United States advances to the knockout stage where they will face either Thailand,France or Spain.In the game,Nigeria players received three yellow cards,including one to defender Sarah Nnodim.It was her second of the tournament,resulting in a red card and ejection.One more photo below.                                              ...

                   From a survey i conducted on the internet,80% of Nigerians said they should ban tribal marks in Nigeria why 10% said they should not stop it because it is our culture.The remaining 10% were giving baseless facts about tribal marks.Now from the arguments,a lot of history were shared about the tribal mark.One of the major speaker during the survey said during the colonial days {slave trade},the tribal marks was used for identification,just in case you are taken by the slave traders,so that when you are free,you can locate your tribe.Now from where i came from in Nigeria Awka capital of Anambra state,some very rich men back in those days,do give themselves very horrible tribal marks on the face.Now back in those days they have alot of excuses why the tribal mark was done to an innocent child,now that slave trade is partially over and every child now knows the different between right and wrong,why must most parents force t...
