  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. 21 KIRIKIRI PRISON INMATES,FREED TODAY BY LAGOS CHIEF JUDGE.

Justice Oluwafumilayo Atilade                                                                   Today wednesday,21 inmates were freed by the Chief Judge of Lagos state Justice Oluwafunmilayo Atilade.The release was in exercise of the powers conferred on her under section 1 {1} of the Criminal Justice Release from Custoday Act Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2007.Most of the inmates released were those who have spent more time than they would have if convicted of the crimes for which they are facing trial.Admonishing the lucky inmates,Justice Atilade urged them to keep away from crime and henceforth be of good behaviour.Justice Atilade said her visit to the prison to release inmates would be a continuous exercise.''Those of you released should henceforth be of good behaviour.The state government is committed to a crime free Lagos and any one found committing crime will be arrested and prosecuted''.The CJ also appealed to non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders working with the prisons authority to ensure that those released are properly re-integrated into the society.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
