 ANAMBRA SHMB WARNS HEALTH INFORMATION OFFICERS OVER LATE REPORTS, REITERATES 7TH-DAY DEADLINE By Ebele Egoh The Anambra State Hospital Management Board (SHMB) has urged Health Information Management Officers to ensure accurate medical records, timely data submission and strict protection of patients’ confidential information to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state. The Director of Medical Support Services of the Board, Mrs Nneka Uzor, gave the call during a meeting and training session for health information personnel held on Oct. 9 at the SHMB conference hall. Mrs Uzor stressed that maintaining complete medical records and safeguarding patients’ information are essential professional responsibilities, cautioning  the officers against disclosing sensitive health information to unauthorised persons and urged them to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.      PRESS RELEASE   On 23/11/2018 at about 11:55 am, there was intelligence report that members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were sighted gathering in their hundreds near Teaching Hospital, Owerri Road, Nnewi with intent to cause a breach of the Public Peace. 2. Following the report, Police Patrol teams led by the Area Commander, Nnewi, ACP Nnanna Ama mobilized and rushed to the scene in order to disperse and prevent them from causing a breakdown of law and order. 3. However, as soon as Police arrived the Scene, the rampaging IPOB members descended on the Police, set ablaze one Patrol vehicle and attacked them with machetes and stones.       Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has raised the alarm that the APC Federal Government has concluded plans to plant 800 guns in the state, with the objective of destabilising Rivers State. In a statement signed by Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor was quoted as saying that the APC Federal Government resolved to impl ement the plot during her last security meeting. He stated that the intelligence came from credible sources that were privy to the ugly plot against Rivers State. The governor called on the international community to take note of the proposed illegal action of the APC Federal Government, which is aimed at creating crisis in the state.
