 A 13-year-old Florida boy lost his life inside of a tube slide at a playground, leaving behind a shocked and grief-stricken family. The heartbreaking discovery was made when a father took his two children to Shenandoah Park in Miami on September 25th to work out some energy.  What they discovered when trying to use the tube slide may keep these young children from ever playing in an enclosed slide again. 13-year-old Olvin Ballladares was inside of the slide ...and unresponsive.  According to reports, Olvin had gone to the park that morning instead of school. While at the park, Olvin had attempted to slide down the tube slide. While traveling down the slide, Olvin's shirt became caught on a screw and pulled tight around his neck, cutting off his supply to oxygen.  From the way that he was discovered, it appears Olvin had realized what was happening and tried to free himself but was unable. $268,000 Fraud; EFCC Arrests Yahoo Boy At His Luxury Hotel in Oghara, Delta State Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested Precious Ojo, aka obago, a suspected internet fraudster in Oghara, Delta State. The 26 year-old was arrested following a petition received from a United States of America citizen, on his fraudulent activities. The petitioner had alleged that the suspect impersonated one Raymond Bush who works in the US Treasury to defraud her of $268,000.00. The suspect was arrested  at his hotel in Oghara. He confessed to building the luxury hotel with his alleged proceeds of crime. Other items recovered from him include a Mercedes-Benz car with personalised plate number and  mobile phones. The suspect will be arraigned in court soon. More photos below.

NLC, TUC Condemn Non Payment Of Salaries In Zamfara  The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC/Trade Union Congress, TUC, Zamfara State Chapter have Condemed the non payment of two months salary of the state civil servants. This was contained in a Joint Statement by the two labour unions (NLC/TUC) signed by their Chairmen Comrade Sani Halliru of NLC and Comrade Saidu Mudi of TUC and made available to newsmen in Gusau the state capital. According to the statement, series of issues and meetings were vigorously held in respect of the above subject matter involving all the stakeholders on the best way to address the issues but failed.  Court Adjourns LP Petition Against Tinubu Till May 17th  The Presidential Elections Petitions Court has adjourned until Wednesday, May 17 to enable parties involved in the petition challenging the emergence of Bola Tinubu as president elect, to harmonise their processes. At the resumed sitting, Counsel to the Petitioners, Dr Livy Uzoukwu informed the court that all parties unanimously agreed to seek for a week adjournment to enable all processes to be ripe for hearing and to take decision on documents that would be tendered. All the respondents in the matter did not oppose to the adjournment. Speaking with journalists after the proceedings, Dr Uzoukwu said for the interest of the public, his team of lawyers have agreed that all the sittings of the court should be on live coverage for the interest of the public. The chairman of the 5 man panel of the court, Justice Haruna Tsamani therefore adjourned until the 17th of this month for further hearing.

NEMA  Receives 148 Stranded Nigerians from Niger Republic   National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA),had received another batch of 148 stranded Nigerians, from Niamey(Niger Republic). NEMA Co-ordinator Kano Territorial Office, Dr Nuradeen Abdullahi, made the disclosure while receiving the returnees at  Malam Aminu Kano International Airport. According to him,the returnees were brought back under the care of International Organisation for Migration (IOM) from Niamey (Niger Republic) through a voluntary repatriation programme.  He maintained that,the returnees arrived aboard SKY MALI Airlines, operated by Ethiopian airline B737-400 with registration number UR-CQX . The Co-ordinator said, the programme was meant for the distressed, who had left the country to seek greener pastures in various European countries and could not afford to return. Bauchi State flaggs off Fertilizer Sales For This Year's Farming Season  Bauchi State Government says it provides adequate fertilizer and other farming implements to meet the growing demands by farmers across the state with a view to encourage bumper harvest in this rainy season. It also said a huge amount of money has been committed to procure over two hundred trucks MPK fertilizer for this year farming season, provision of chemicals for the control of agricultural related diseases and livestock animal vaccinations. The State Governor Bala Mohammed made this known at the lunch of this year's farming season and sales of fertilizer in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area.
