 Peter Obi blasts Gov Alia for blocking him from visiting Benue The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has accused the Benue State Government of politicising his planned visit to internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps and health institutions in the state. In a statement shared on Monday via his official X account, Obi expressed disappointment over what he described as deliberate attempts to frustrate his humanitarian trip to Benue, lamenting what he called the growing politicisation of good causes in Nigeria. DAILY POST had exclusively reported that Alia had moved to block a planned visit by Obi to camps housing Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state. Top government officials reportedly advised Governor Alia against granting Obi access to the IDP camps, citing political undertones. President Joyce Banda: coming to the Synagogue to pray          Joyce Banda,Malawi female president,left her country today on a south Africa Airways flight to lagos,to begin a three day private visit to Nigeria,not to the president but to TB Joshua's church for a 3day program,to receive prayers for her and her small country.At the departure ceremony in Lilongwe today,she said she wanted to use the time to reflect on 201 and what lies ahead in 2014.Mrs Branda is due to face a general election in May 2014.She said she has been coming to Nigeria for prayers in the last five years,and this visit is normal.She said ''some of you maybe aware that i go for prayers in Nigeria.This year i also decided to take a three day holiday for prayers''.She calls TB Joshua her nspiritual father.                              TB JoshuaPresident Joyce Banda, right with Nigeria's first couple

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
