Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. A deposed white cap chief in the area of Lagos island,died early saturday morning.All the shops in the market were ordered to close in honour of the deceased and the entire market was shut down.It was learnt that the deceased named Balogun Okolo has been sick for sometime now before he finally gave up the ghost early saturday morning.He died of Diabetes,an ailment that rendered him immobile for few weeks.It was further learnt that the late Balogun Okolo used to be a white cap chief at Iga Idunganran palace.A bitter disagreement with the Eleko of Eko,Oba Rilwan Akiolu,led to his being disposed.His deposition also led to his name being removed from the traditional chiefs list of the local government.His salary and other emolument were also canceled.
