Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. A deposed white cap chief in the area of Lagos island,died early saturday morning.All the shops in the market were ordered to close in honour of the deceased and the entire market was shut down.It was learnt that the deceased named Balogun Okolo has been sick for sometime now before he finally gave up the ghost early saturday morning.He died of Diabetes,an ailment that rendered him immobile for few weeks.It was further learnt that the late Balogun Okolo used to be a white cap chief at Iga Idunganran palace.A bitter disagreement with the Eleko of Eko,Oba Rilwan Akiolu,led to his being disposed.His deposition also led to his name being removed from the traditional chiefs list of the local government.His salary and other emolument were also canceled.
