 National Assembly Slams Pastor Tunde Bakare Over Criticism, Labels Remarks Biased The National Assembly has sharply rebuked Pastor Tunde Bakare, overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church, for his critical remarks against the legislature, branding them as biased and misleading. The response follows Bakare’s Sunday sermon, where he condemned the Senate’s suspension of Senator Natasha-Akpoti Uduaghan and the lawmakers’ approval of emergency rule in Rivers State, describing the executive and legislature as contenders in an “institutional immorality Olympics.” In a statement on Tuesday, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, accused Bakare of crossing the line with “unwarranted invective and misleading assertions” that could erode public trust in democratic institutions.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
