  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. 'Secret': Jasvir Ram Ginday, 30, told Wolverhampton Crown Court he knew he was gay when he was 12 but married Varkha Rami, 24, to make his parents happy           30 years old Jasvir Ram Ginday is accused of murdering Varkha Rami on September 12 last year following a lavish wedding ceremony in India .The newly weds were cleaning their family home when Ginday discovered Varkha packing her bags after he fetched her a vacuum cleaner.The wife ,told him she new he was gay and could not stay any longer,prompting him to push the pipe against her throat with moderate force.Ginday told the jury he knew he was gay from the age of 12 but felt unable to tell his parents the truth because they would be shocked and devastated.Having never been in a heterosexual relationship before,he traveled to India in October 2012 and met 15 potential wives,before asking 24 years old Varkha to marry him on March 28.Ginday denies the charge of murder by pleading guilty to on manslaughter and also a further charge of perverting the course of Justice by lying to the police.                                                           Police found the charred remains of Varkha Rami the day after Ginday reported her missingGinday told Wolverhampton Crown Court he was 'devastated' by her death and pleaded guilty to manslaughter

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
