 Senegal bans state officials from foreign travel to cut costs Senegal's government has suspended all non-essential foreign travel by ministers and top officials, warning of "extremely difficult" times ahead. The US-Israeli war on Iran has driven global oil prices higher, straining the budgets of many countries and pushing governments to take steps to mitigate the negative impacts. Addressing a youth event in the coastal town of Mbour on Friday evening, Senegal's Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko pointed to oil trading at about $115 a barrel, nearly twice the $62 per barrel assumed in Senegal's budget projections. "No minister in my government will leave the country unless it is for an essential mission related to the work we are currently undertaking," he said, announcing that he had already cancelled his own planned trips to Niger, Spain and France. An MP has complained after seeing a sign, pictured, posted near a popular park warning dog-walkers to stay out of 'Islamic areas'             A sign posted near a popular park in London warning dog walkers to stay out of Islamic areas.Labour member of parliament Jim Fitzpatrick alerted police and the local Mayor about the sigh after it was flagged up by one of the residents in his east London constituency.The sign which was spotted on the raillings of Bartlett park,reads ''Do not walk your dog here,Muslims do not like dogs.This is an islamic area now''.Police say an investigation is now underway to find out who put it up.More photos below.                                            Tory MP Jim Fitzpatrick, pictured, alerted police and the local mayor about the sign after it was flagged up by one of the residents in his east London constituencyMP Jim Fitzpatrick wrote a letter to recently re-elected Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman, asking for the matter to be investigated

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
