STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. In a press release today tuesday by Femi Falana,he said the Oba's diversionary threat to the Igbo's is totally unacceptable as it is a mockery of the political objective of national integraion.''It is illegal as it clearly offends section 42 of the Costitution which has prohibited discrimination on grounds of ethnicity,religion,politica, opinion,creed or sex.The Oba lacks the power to cause anyone to die in the Lagoon within seven days,the threat constitutes a violation of the fundamental right of thousands of citizens to life.I urge the Oba to apologise without delay''.Well i know the Oba is campaigning hard for Ambode but most igbo's found the word jumping into the lagoon very offensive if they don't support Ambode.Even if the Eze Ndigbo's have agreed with him to support Ambode,Oba Akiolu would not have generalized it to all Igbos,because not all Igbos want to support Ambode,and each Igbo man or woman,have the right to vote for who ever they want to vote for because it is their constitutional right.
