  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms.                   In a press release today tuesday by Femi Falana,he said the Oba's diversionary threat to the Igbo's is totally unacceptable as it is a mockery of the political objective of national integraion.''It is illegal as it clearly offends section 42 of the Costitution which has prohibited discrimination on grounds of ethnicity,religion,politica, opinion,creed or sex.The Oba lacks the power to cause anyone to die in the Lagoon within seven days,the threat constitutes a violation of the fundamental right  of thousands of citizens to life.I urge the Oba to apologise without delay''.Well i know the Oba is campaigning hard for Ambode but most igbo's found the word jumping into the lagoon very offensive if they don't support Ambode.Even if the Eze Ndigbo's have agreed with him to support Ambode,Oba Akiolu would not have generalized it to all Igbos,because not all Igbos want to support Ambode,and each Igbo man or woman,have the right to vote for who ever they want to vote for because it is their constitutional right.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
