 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements.                     The All Progressive Congress {APC} has described the appointment as totally unacceptable and the highest level of indiscipline and treachery,the conduct of today tuesday's inauguration of the National Assembly that led to the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon Yakubu Dogara as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representative respectively.In a statement issued in Abuja today tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary,Alhaji Lai Mohammed said ''The party is supreme and its interest is suprerior to that of it's individual members.Consequently,the APC leadership is meeting in a bid to re-establish discipline in the party and to meet out the necessary sanctions to all those involved in what is nothing but a monumental act of indiscipline and betrayal to subject the party to ridicle and create obstacle's for the new administration.There cam be no higher level of treachery,disloyalty and insincerity within any party''.Meanwhile,the APC has asked all its loyal senators elect to please report to the senate to be Sworn in,in order to discharge their constitutional duties.
