 "Worth It" — Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatally Shooting 11-Month-Old Son to Keep Him From Father Madeline Veronique Daly, 36, pleaded guilty this week in Silver City, New Mexico, to first-degree murder in the December 23, 2025 killing of her 11-month-old son, Basil Stoner. Grant County deputies had tracked her to an RV off Highway 15 on a Wyoming kidnapping warrant after she took the baby during a custody dispute with his father, Jake Stoner. While officers waited for a warrant and tried to negotiate, Daly put a 9mm handgun to the boy’s face and fired. According to the criminal complaint, Daly told investigators her thought when she saw law enforcement approach was: “Jake can’t get Basil.” After her arrest she said it was “worth it” if Basil’s father and his family never got him. OSCAR PISTORIUS,TO BE RELEASED FROM JAIL,AUGUST 2015.

                         South African authorities said athlete Oscar Pistorius will be released on parole on August 2 after serving 10 months of a five year sentence for culpable homicide of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.The Olympic ad Paralympic track star is behind bars in the capital Pretoria,after being convicted last year October after a seven month trial.The release of Pistorius whose lower legs were amputated when he was a baby,had been largely expected under South African sentencing guidelines that say non-dangerous prisoners should spend only one sixth of a custodial sentence behind bars.A prison service statement said Pistorius would spend the remainder of his time under ''Correctional supervision'',a form of house arrest.His girlfriend 29 year old Reeva Steenkamp was a law graduate and a model,died on Valentine's Day in 2013 when Pistorius shot her through a locked toilet door at his luxury Pretoria home,but he claimed that he fired the gun by mistaken belief that an intruder was hiding behind the door.One more photo below.
