 NAF GETS FIRST-EVER SERVING PROFESSOR, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO R&D AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE In a landmark achievement for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and a major boost to its research and development (R&D) endeavours, the Governing Council of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), has approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Osichinaka Chiedu Ubadike as Professor of Aerospace Engineering. This makes him the first-ever serving officer in the NAF to be conferred the rank of Professor. Air Vice Marshal Ubadike, an accomplished scholar and military professional, holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Vehicle Design from the esteemed Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. He also possesses 3 other Masters degrees from Ahmadu Bello University and Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), with a First-Class Bachelor of Electrical Electronics Engineering degree from NDA. LAGOS STATE GOVT,TO ASSIST A WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO 3 SET OF TWINS,AFTER HER HUSBAND ABANDONED HER.

Ruth Uche and her children                    Mrs Ruth Uche,the mother of three sets of twins who was abandoned by her husband Mr Uche who is a factory worker,after she gave birth to the last set of twins,will now be supported by the Lagos state government.Governor Akinwumi Ambode in a statement signed by his Chief press secretary,Mr Habib Aruna,said yesterday friday that ''It is not proper for anyone to abandon his family,especially young children that they willing brought to life.It is only when such children are properly taken care of that they can achieve their full potentials in life and become responsible citizens''.The Governor got to know about Mrs Ruth Uche's situation,through a newspaper publication which narrated her ordeals,and also her distress visit to the Government Secretariat Alausa on thursday.Ambode said his government would continue to provide good leadership that would guarantee adequate protection of lives and property of all residence.His government will assist in raising the children.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
