TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. It came as a shock to everybody when the President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza was sworn in today secretly.His inauguration ceremony was really a low key affair.According to several ministries,they were informed about the swearing in ceremony few hours before the ceremony today.It was widely expected that the ceremony would take place on the 26th of August 2015.President Nkurunziza said in his oath ''To dedicate all my forces to the defence of the best interests of the nation,to assure national unity and the cohesion of the Burundian people,social peace and justice''.His third term in office was highly condemned by the people of Burundi,which they termed as unconstitutional by the opposition and it also provoked months of protests.One more photo below.
