 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. C&S PASTOR MICHAEL BALOGUN,ARRESTED OVER A MISSING 4 YEAR OLD GIRL.

                 The victim Tope Ogundeyi as seen in the picture above,was stolen from their church,a Cherubim and Seraphim church located at IIufunmi street,Ejigbo on the 1st of September 2015.The Pastor Michael Balogun and other leaders were in the church when the incident happened.The father of the victim Olumide Ogundeyi said that he came from Ogun state to the church for deliverance prayers because he was sick and his family was facing many challenges.He said that after the prayers,they slept inside the church auditorium as directed by the prophet with four of his children and wife.The doors and windows of the church auditorium were locked after their midnight prayers before they slept.By the time he woke up at about 5a.m,he did not see Tope where she was lying with two other of his children and did not see his three handsets where he kept them.He raised the alarm which attracted other church members and they immediately started searching for Tope but did not find her.He then reported the matter to the police at Ejigbo Police Division and the Oba of Ejibo,Oba Moruf Ojoola.Now the pastor Balogun and three church leaders have been arrested in connection to Tope's kidnap in Area 'D' Police Command in Mushin,Lagos state.More photos below.                               Parents of Tope.
