 A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough. NIGER REPUBLIC,DECLARES A 15 DAYS STATE OF EMERGENCY BECAUSE OF BOKO HARAM.

                  A 15 day state of emergency was declared by the Niger government to allow authorities to beef up security,impose a curfew and restrict the movement of goods and people.The state of emergency was imposed on the southeastern region of Diffa yesterday wednesday where at least 40 people have been killed in recent weeks in attacks blamed on the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.The government instituted similar measures in February.Diffa has endured at least 57 attacks since February,which was shown through a statistics published by the United Nations on friday.At least 150,000 refugees seeking protection from Boko Haram attacks in Nigeria line in Niger's Diffa region.Am so looking forward to a day when all these insurgency will end.One more photo below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
