 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. GENERAL TUKUR,ESCAPES ASSASSINATION YESTERDAY IN ZARIA.

                            It was reported today sunday that yesterday saturday according to Col.Sani Usman,Acting Director,Army Public Relations said that some suspected members of a religious group attempted an attack on the convoy of Chief of Army Staff {COAS},Lt-Gen.Tukur Buratai in Zaria.Unconfirmed report said seven persons lost their lives during the incident caused by an Islamic religious sect.In a statement made available to the NAN in Abuja,he said that the group struck in the afternoon when the COAS went to pay homage to the Emir of Zazzau,Alhaji Shehu Idris.He said that the COAS also went to Zaria to attend the passing out parade of 73 Regular Recruits intake of Nigerian Army Depot,Zaria.He said in the statement that the members of the group,wielding dangerous weapons,obstructed the main road with stones and tyres.He said further that the members threw stones and dangerous objects at the convoy of the COAS,nothing that COAS was not hut.One more photo below.
