 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. 2 SOUTH AFRICAN MEN,WHO BEAT & STABBED A MOzAMBICAN TO DEATH,WERE SENTENCED TODAY.#XENOPHOBIA

                      According to a local media report,the two South African men who beat and stabbed a Mozambican man to death during a wave xenophobic violence in April last year were sentenced to 17 and 10 years  in prison in monday.Mthinta Bhengu and Sifundo Mzimela,who were caught on camera attacking Mozambican national Emmanuel Sithole in a township in the economic hub of Johannesburg,were found guilty of murder in November.Bhengu,who has a previous conviction for violent crime,received the harsher sentence,702 Talk Radio reported.Magistrate Van der Schyff said Bhengu continued to attack the Mozambican vendor even while the victim was begging for mercy,the radio said.Van der Schyff said ''It is not acceptable that a person should be killed in this manner''.The wave of anti-immigrant attacks first surfaced in the eastern Kwaulu Natal Province in April before flaring up in Johannesburg.More photos below.
