 Heavy fighting reported between Sudanese army, rival RSF in southern Sudan Fierce clashes were reported Tuesday between the Sudanese army and its rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the strategic city of El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state in southern Sudan. A military source told Anadolu that the army inflicted heavy losses on RSF's troops and equipment, forcing them to flee positions. Witnesses said clashes with heavy weapons erupted in the western areas of El-Obeid in the early hours of Tuesday, but calm was later restored to the city. The RSF is yet to comment on the army’s announcement. The city recently endured intensified artillery shelling by RSF militants, resulting in fatalities and casualties. The army announced Thursday it had cleared the last RSF pockets in Khartoum, after regaining control of the capital’s airport, security headquarters and several neighborhoods in the east and south for the first time since April 2023. REV. KING,SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING TODAY BY THE SUPREME COURT.

                        According to sources,the Suprem Court has ruled that the convicted General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly,Chukwuemeka Ezeugo,a.k.a Rev King is to die by hanging.In a unanimous judgement to day friday afternoon,a seven man panel of Justice Walter Onnoghen,upheld the death sentence that was earlier handed to Ezeugo by the Lagos State High Court.Consequently,the court in its lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta,dismissed the appeal the convicted clergy lodged before it.Justice Ngwuta who noted that the facts of the case could have been lifted from horror film,resolved all the twelve issues Ezeugo raised in his appeal against him.''This appeal has no merit.The judgement of the court of appeal is hereby affirmed.The prison sentence that was earlier handed to the appellant is no longer relevant in view of the death sentence passed on him'',Justice Ngwuta held.It will be recalled that Ezeugo was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging on January11 ,2007,for the alleged murder of his church member,Ann Uzoh.He was arraigned on September 26,2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
