 Anti-Tinubu comments: ACF suspends chairman as Afenifere, others back President The Arewa Consultative Forum on Thursday suspended its chairman Mamman Osuman following widespread reactions across the country, after the northern body’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s policies, saying it had impoverished the North. The ACF, in a statement, added that the interests of the North would be best represented by northerners. However, Yoruba socio-political Afenifere, Igbo socio-cultural body Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other regional groups backed the President insisting his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari laid the marker for the hardship in the country. In a communiqué issued at the conclusion of the forum’s National Executive Council meeting in Kaduna on Wednesday, the ACF expressed dissatisfaction with the current economic policies, which, according to the forum, worsened conditions in Northern Nigeria. THE NIGERIAN ARMY COLONEL THAT WAS KIDNAPPED FEW DAYS AGO,WAS FOUND DEAD TODAY IN KADUNA.

                                                                                                                     The Nigerian Army wishes to regrettably inform the public that Colonel Samaila Inusa who was kidnapped on sunday the 27th of March 2016,was found dead today at about 6.00pm.Pre;iminary investigation revealed that most likely the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors.This is because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna,Kaduna State.Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital,Kaduna.May soul rest in peace,Amen.We wish to state in unmistakeable terms that whoever is behind hid abduction and murder would be fished out to face the full wrath of the law.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director,Army Public Relations.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
