 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. EGYPTIAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION,CANCELLED THE PROPOSED JANUARY 2017 FRIENDLY MATCH WITH NIGERIA.

Image result for egypt vs nigeria football players                 According to sources,following an alleged disagreement with the Nigerian authorities on match expenses,the Egyptian Football Association has cancelled the proposed January 2017 friendly duel with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.The friendly game was scheduled to be played on January 9,2017 in Dubai as Egypt want to use the duel as preparation for the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon.It was stated that the Egyotians FA said they would not be able to bear all the expenses for the friendly encounter with Nigeria,and they have gone ahead to fix another friendly encounter with Tunisia at the same time they are supposed to face Nigeria.Sources claimed that the Nigeria Football Federation {NFF} have demanded that the Egyptian FA should bear all their expenses for the friendly match.Mohammed Sanusi who is the Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation {NFF} explained that the NFF has not received any communication on the match from the Egyptians FA.''Well,I haven't been told anything and I don't think any of us has received any information from the Egyptian Football Federation,'' Sanusi explained.Nigeria will not be participating in the 2017 African Cup of Nations billed to take place in Gabon.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
