Prince Harry leaves African Parks board after charity admitted rangers committed human rights abuses Prince Harry has left the board of African Parks after nearly a decade with the conservation charity, a year after the organization acknowledged that some of its rangers had committed human rights abuses. A spokesperson for Harry, 41, confirmed his departure while emphasizing that his work in African conservation will continue. “The Duke is proud of his 10 years with African Parks and fully supports the ongoing strengthening of its Board,” the spokesperson said. “His commitment to conservation in Africa continues, and he remains a supporter of African Parks’ mission.” Harry first partnered with African Parks in 2016 and became president of the organization the following year. Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,on Tuesday,gave an inkling of where the gubernatorial political pendulum may swing in Ogun State,come 2019.Speaking at the inauguration of members of Consultative Advisory Councils for the 57 Local Governmebt andb Local Council Development Authorities in Ogun State,on Tuesday,the Governor declared his intention to support and actively campaign for a Governorship candidate from the Ogun West Senatorial District as his successor in 2019.Addressing a large crowd of party faithful,the Governor said in the interest of fairness,equity and justice,he will not support or campaign for any candidate from the Ogun Central Senatorial District that produced him as a two-term governor,come 2019.Governor Amosun also said that he will not support any Governorship candidate from the Ogun East Senatorial District but he will not campaign against them.He was however quick to warn the people of Ogun West Senatorial District to ensure that they put their house in order and avoid the temptation to want to impose individuals he described as ''imported politicians'' as governor in Ogun State.''This is Ogun State,we know ourselves and we should not allow anybody to impose people we don't know on us as Governor'',he said.While speaking on the importance of the LG/LCDA Advisory Council,Governor Amosun said it will further entrench participatory governance at the grassroots level and strengthen the principle of democracy in the State.Earlier,in his welcome address,the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy to be honest and justify their inclusion in governance.In thei separate goodwill messages,royal fathers from the three Senatorial Districts of the State took turns to advise the newly inaugurated Advisory Council members to see their appointment as a call to service.
