“₦1,000 for just 8 tomatoes” — Man fumes over rising food prices, says Nigerians are suffering under hardship A Nigerian man has gone viral after lamenting the rising cost of food, revealing that he bought just eight tomatoes for ₦1,000 at a market in Yaba. In a video shared online, he questioned how families, especially large households, are expected to survive amid rising food prices, stressing that basic ingredients like tomatoes, pepper and onions have become increasingly difficult for many to afford. The visibly angry man also criticised the state of the country, expressing frustration over hardship, insecurity and the rising cost of living in Nigeria. Watch video below.
The Kano operational zone of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today,May 23,2017 carried out a mass Walk Against Corruption.Zonal Head of Operation,Dr Adamu Hamisu Danmusa said the walk was aimed at sensitizing the public on the evils of corruption and to carry them along in the bid to drive corruption out of Nigeria.The walk started from the Commission's Kano Zonal Office and terminated at the Race Course,Nasarawa in the Kano Metropolis featured several stakeholders from ICPC,NDLEA,KAROTA and Civil Defence.At the termination of the rally,Elder Statesman and former Minister in the first Republic,Alhaji Sule Maitama,Danmassanin Kano gave a remarkable speech in which he described the walk of the Commission as God's Work.'',he said.The Danmasani also warned that if we don't fight corruption,we would never achieve greatness in the eyes of the world.''We are potentially a great country,a country that will takke its proper place in the comity of nations,but we must work hard in order to realize that potential greatness''.More photos below.
