 States face allocation cuts as agency demands N100bn monthly  The monthly statutory allocations to state governments from the federation account may decline in the coming months following an official request by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority to boost the nation’s residual funds with the support of N100bn monthly. The request, which was presented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NSIA, Aminu Umar-Sadiq, is aimed at unlocking large-scale investments to drive Nigeria’s economic growth. He made the request at the March revenue-sharing meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee held between April 14 and 15, 2025. Our correspondent obtained a copy of his presentation during the meeting on Friday. Umar-Sadiq appealed to the committee, which includes state commissioners of finance, to consider and approve the request, with funding proposed to commence from the March FAAC allocation. Image may contain: 1 person, smiling                   The Chief of Army Staff {COAS},Nigerian Army,Lieuenant General TY Buratai,ysterday monday 26th June 2017,addressed members of Royal United Services Institute {RUSI},a British think-tank and foreign relations experts in London.The Chief of Army Stafff spoke to them on the ''Current Nigerian Army Operations and the fight against Boko Haram terrorists''.During the presentation,he discussed Nigerian Army's approach in countering the Boko Haram terrorists,strategy and tactics being employed against the terrorists,current situation in the north eastern Nigeria and the ongoing clearance and stabilizing operations in the threatre.The presentation attracted other personalities from Transparency International,diplomats from France and the United States,as well as academicians from London School of Economics and participants at Royal College of Defence Studies.After the presentation at RUSI,.he also interacted with Nigerian Army officers on courses at various institutions in the United Kingdom and thereafter moved to the Ministry of Defence where he had meeting with Major General Giles Hill,Assistant Chief of Defence Staff {CDS}N of the United Kingdom at the Ministry of Defence.Earlier on arrival at the MOD,he was conducted round memorial arcade by his host at the courtyard of the Ministry.The Chief of Army will also attend 2017 RUSI Land Warfare Conference and visit the Royal College of Defence Studies {RCDS}.
