 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. Image may contain: 5 people, people smiling                 Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun has warned militants,cultists and criminals to steer clear of the state or be ready to face dire consequences.Amosun,who gave the warning after he met with heads of security and paramilitary agencies in the state in his office yesterday,said they should either renounce their evil acts or face the full wrath of the law.The governor had met with heads of the Nigerian Army,Nigeria police Force,State Security Service,Federal Road Safety Corps,Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps.''We will not tolerate any criminal groups,no matter the group they belong to,or the name they call themselves in our state.No criminaln would be allowed to come and terrorise us in Ogun State and we are ready and fully prepared for them'',he stated.The governor,who noted that Ogun is known for many positive firsts,called on well meaning Nigerians,who desire to live in harmony and invest in the state,to come and reside with the good people of the state.Commissioner,Ogun State Police Command,Ahmed Illiyasu said the security agencies in the state are united and committed as well as ''ready to dislodge any criminal and bring them down''.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
