 PRESS RELEASE NNPC Ltd Announces New Senior Management Team Following the appointment of the Group Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced the appointment of a new 8-man Senior Management Team on Friday. The team which will be headed by the GCEO, Mr Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has Roland Ewubare as Group Chief Operating Officer; Adedapo Segun as Group Chief Financial Officer; and Olalekan Ogunleye as Executive Vice President Gas, Power & New Energy. Other members of the team are: Udy Ntia as Executive Vice President Upstream; Mumuni Dagazau as Executive Vice President Downstream; Sophia Mbakwe as Executive Vice President Business Services; and Adesua Dozie, as Company Secretary & Chief Legal Officer. 5 NIGERIAN PILGRIMS DIED IN SAUDI ARABIA-NAHCON.

     Five Nigerian pilgrims have so far died in Saudi Arabia, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) said yesterday.
NAHCON’s head of the medical team, Dr Ibrahim Kana, who disclosed this at a pre-Arafat meeting with stakeholders, also said that a female pilgrim gave birth, while another had a miscarriage.
“I don’t want to name the state but she was 38 weeks pregnant and she even had baby things in her bag during screening but she was allowed to travel,” he said.Sources said that the pilgrim was from Kogi State.Kana described the pre-Arafat deaths as the lowest in years. NAHCON has called on states operating illegal clinics for pilgrims at the ongoing hajj to immediately shut such facilities or face disciplinary action.NAHCON Chairman, Abdullahi Mukhtar gave the warning yesterday, saying the commission already operates eight clinics as required by Saudi Arabia authorities. “We know the states involved in this and we call on them to immediately close down such illegal clinics. If they refuse, we will take action against them and we will report them to the highest authority in Nigeria.”Dr Kana said Kogi and the entire south-west states were operating illegal clinics.Meanwhile, as pilgrims move to Mina today, NAHCON has provided a helpline in case of emergency during the hajj rites at Mina, Muzdhalifa and Arafat.The commission chairman also directed all states pilgrims welfare boards to open dedicated lines in case of emergencies.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
