  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. KWARA STATE GOVERNOR ABDULFATAH AHMED APPROVES MINOR CABINET RESHUFFLE TODAY.

        The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle involving four commissioners to re-energise governance in the state.According to a statement by the Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Sola Gold, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed approved the movement of Engineer Idris Garba from the Ministry of Energy to the Ministry of Industry and Solid Mineral Resources while Alhaja Fumilayo Isiaka Oniwa moves from Ministry of Industry and Solid Mineral Resources to the Ministry of Commerce and Cooperatives.
Continuing, the Secretary to the State Government said Alhaji Ahmed Muhumamed Rifun is posted from the Ministry of Commerce and Cooperatives to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development whose erstwhile Commissioner, Hon. Muideen Olaniyi Alalade, is now in charge of the Ministry of Energy.Alhaji Gold said all the postings are with immediate effect.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
