 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. OTUNBA BIMBO ASHIRU DEBUNKS RESIGNATION RUMOUR.{PHOTO}

     Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, who a section of social media speculated has resigned from the state Executive Council (EXCO), has debunked the report.
Speaking to newsmen, shortly after a state EXCO meeting, in the Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, yesterday, Ashiru described the report as untrue and false.
He added that his gubernatorial ambition is subject to the outcome of ongoing consultations with his people, friends and well wishers.
According to him, he remains a member of the council, which he described as one indivisible family, committed to building a new Ogun State.Ashiru added that he is committed to the stand and direction of the administration, as regards the 2019 Ogun West agenda.
