 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. NIGERIAN ARMY DESTROYS BOKO HARAM CAMP+RESCUE HOSTAGES.#PRESS RELEASE.

     1. Troops of 27 Task Force Brigade in conjunction with the Nigerian Air Force and Civilian Joint Task Force while on clearance operation on 22 April 2018 destroyed another Boko Haram enclave at Buk in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State .
2. During the operation, some members of the Boko Haram terrorists were neutralised while others fled the scene following the superior fire power of own troops.
3. Items recovered include:
a. One truck.
b. One gun truck.
c. Three motorcycles.
d. One tricycle.
e. A bunker and an IED factory were discovered and subsequently destroyed.
4. Five aged women who were held hostage by the terrorists were also freed during the operation.
5. Unfortunately, two soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries are currently receiving treatment at the military facility.
