TWO DROWNED IN DAMATURU EARLY MORNING DOWNPOUR The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has confirmed that two people drowned in Damaturu, the state capital, following an early morning downpour. The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Isa Haruna and 18-year-old Abba Kyari. According to SEMA, the tragic incidents occurred in the Malam Matari and Pompomari areas of Damaturu. The agency said its Search and Rescue Team, working in collaboration with the Yobe State Fire Service, responded promptly after receiving distress alerts. However, upon arrival at the affected locations, rescue officials found that both victims had already died. Their remains were evacuated and transported to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Yobe State Specialist Hospital, Damaturu. SEMA has urged residents, particularly those living in flood-prone communities, to exercise caution during heavy rainfall and to avoid attempting to cross flooded roads or drainage channels. BRIGADIER GENERAL ZAKARI LOGUN ABUBAKAR TAKES OVER COMMAND OF 32 ARTILLERY BRIGADE NIGERIAN ARMY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Brigadier General Zakari Logun Abubakar takes over command of 32 Artillery Brigade Akure from Brigadier General James Ataguba who has recently been posted to Land Forces Simulation Centre as the Director, Training and Operations and Deputy Director General.
The outgoing commander, Brigadier General James Ataguba in his valedictory speech at the send forth organised in his honour, thanked the media organisations, government functionaries and heads of sister security agencies in Ondo and Ekiti states for their professional support throughout his tenure. He enjoined them to give the same support to the new commander, Brigadier General Zakari Logun Abubakar.
Brigadier General Abubakar is a member of 40 Regular Combatant Course and a seasoned Air Defence Artillery officer. He was a member of the Directing Staff(DS) at the National Defence College (NDC) Abuja, until his appointment as the brigade commander.
