 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. 46-YEAR OLD BANKER COMMITS SUICIDE HOURS AFTER POSTING SUICIDAL NOTE ON FACEBOOK.{PHOTOS}.

      A 46-year-old male banker has committed suicide hours after taking to Facebook to share a suicidal note.
Ibeakanma Onyechere, a married father-of-one, was found lying lifeless in his room at his home in Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The banker, from Umuakam Afugiri in Umuahia north LGA, Abia state, reportedly left his wife a suicide note before he took his life by consuming a harmful substance on Friday, August 9, 2019. His wife, who reportedly went shopping at the time he took his life, found the note when she returned.
This is the suicide note he left for his wife....
"The best, that’s what I used to call you. Finally this is the end of my journey here on earth. The evil I have been battling with has succeeded in quenching the flame.
"You married a wrong man. You’re a good woman and you deserve the best. You need to be happy. You need to soar. Please take care of our princess Chinenyenwa."Tell her that I love her so much. Be peaceable with everyone though not gonna be easy. Tell my family not to harbour any resentment against you. You’re a blessing to us.
"That’s the wish of a dying man. Don’t cry for me but pray for me. I love you and chinenye so much. Good Bye My beloved."
He also shared a Facebook post that hinted at his imprending suicide. It reads: "THE LIGHT IS GRADUALLY DIMMING OUT............"
