 Rema Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine. A PASTOR STABBED HIS MOTHER TO DEATH IN ANAMBRA YESTERDAY.

    A Pastor of one of the new generation churches in Ifite Oraifite community of Ekwusigo local government area in Anambra State, reportedly stabbed his mother, Mrs. Grace Anaka to death in the early hours of Tuesday August 27.
Though why the Pastor identified as Nwabueze Anaka killed his mother is yet to be ascertained, it was gathered that he fled the scene almost immediately.
Anambra State police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident and he told newsmen that the fleeing Pastor stabbed his mother with a dagger in the family compound. He further stated that the police has intensified its effort to arrest the murder suspect.

“There was a report at Oraifite Division today 27/8/2019 at about 12:00pm that same date at about 6:am, one Nwabueze Anaka, aged about 30yrs of Umunakwa Oraifite, allegedly stabbed his mother one Grace Anaka ‘f’, aged about 50 years with a dagger and took to flight.
“Police detectives attached to the Division visited the scene, photographed and took the victim to the hospital where she was certified dead by the medical doctor after which corpse was deposited at the rest land morgue, Oraifite.
“Circumstances surrounding the incident is yet to be ascertained but the complainants alleged that the suspect is having some mental challenges''.
