 Prince Harry leaves African Parks board after charity admitted rangers committed human rights abuses Prince Harry has left the board of African Parks after nearly a decade with the conservation charity, a year after the organization acknowledged that some of its rangers had committed human rights abuses. A spokesperson for Harry, 41, confirmed his departure while emphasizing that his work in African conservation will continue. “The Duke is proud of his 10 years with African Parks and fully supports the ongoing strengthening of its Board,” the spokesperson said. “His commitment to conservation in Africa continues, and he remains a supporter of African Parks’ mission.” Harry first partnered with African Parks in 2016 and became president of the organization the following year. He was appointed to its board of directors in 2023. LAGOS BEGINS DISINFECTION,DECONTAMINATION OF LIVE BIRD MARKETS.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Lagos State Government has commenced statewide disinfection and decontamination of 17 major live bird markets across the State.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Prince Gbolahan Lawal explained that the exercise is aimed at preventing the spread of the deadly swine disease particularly at this festive period when the demand for live bird increases.
Lawal listed the markets where the disinfection and decontamination would take place as Olaleye live bird Market, Somolu; Awolowo live bird Market, Mushin; Mushin Main live bird Market; Bolade (Arena) live bird Market, Oshodi; Mile 12 live bird Market; Ketu live bird Market, Kosofe; Ejina live bird Market, Ikorodu and Agege Isale Oja live bird Market, Agege.
Others are Agege Oja Oba live bird Market; Abattoir live bird Market, Agege; Idera New Garage live bird market, Agege; Alayabiagba live bird Market, Ajegunle; Jankara live bird market, Lagos Island; Oyingbo Main live bird market; Alaba Rago live bird Market; Alaba Suuru live bird market and Ikotun live bird market.
The Commissioner, therefore, urged members of the Live Bird Marketers Association of Nigeria and all stakeholders to give their full support and cooperation in order to ensure the success of the exercise.
