 Group demands declaration of Aba North Assembly seat vacant, threatens protest A group known as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has mandated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the Aba North seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been a subject of controversy since November 27, 2023, when the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos sacked Destiny Nwagwu of LP and declared Aaron Uzodike of the PDP, the duly elected member to represent Aba North. However, the seat has remained unoccupied since November 2023, as Uzodike of PDP has not been inaugurated by the Speaker, despite his several appeals. A fresh controversy erupted Friday, as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youths Groups, asked the Speaker to declare the seat vacant within seven days or expect a city-wide protest in Aba. ANOTHER BREAKTHROUGH RECORDED BY THE ANAMBRA STATE COMMAND AS POLICE OPERATIVES GUNNED DOWN TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS FOLLOWING A GUN BATTLE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Today 13/1/2020 at about 1:15pm,Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) responded to a distress call and stormed the hideout of a robbery gang who allegedly attacked one Chiegulem Chidera 'm' at Agouye Umuko Awka and snatched his Nissan Xtera jeep with Reg number Cross River GGJ 402 AA at gunpoint.
Suspects were trailed at Nkwo Agulu and on sighting the Police opened fire after which the police responded promptly. As a result,the two suspects one Onyebuchi Ngala 'm' aka Ceaser and Izuchukwu Okoro 'm' were fatally wounded during the gun encounter.They were taken to the hospital for treatment but confirmed dead on arrival by the medical doctor.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include the snatched Xtera jeep, one Ak 47 rifle, one pump action gun, six life cartridges, four expended ammunition, five life ammunition of 7.62mm and two Ak47 magazines.
It would be recalled that the deceased suspects were also among the gang responsible for the Abduction of one Engr Emeka Chiaghana 'm' of Nibo on 25/10/2019.
Meanwhile, case is still under investigation and effort is ongoing to locate the whereabout of the abducted victim please.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
