FEDERAL MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND NATIONAL ORIENTATION  PRESS STATEMENT  BINANCE FALSE CLAIM ON BRIBERY DIVERSIONARY  The Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of attempts by Binance to launder its impaired image as an organisation that does not play by the rules and laws guiding business conduct in sovereign nations. In a blog post that has now been published by many international media organisations, in an apparent well-coordinated public relations effort, Binance Chief Executive Officer Richard Teng made false allegations of bribery against unidentified Nigerian government officials who he claimed demanded $150m in cryptocurrency payments to resolve the ongoing criminal investigation against the company.  This claim by Binance CEO lacks any iota of substance. It is nothing but a diversionary tactic and an attempted act of blackmail by a company desperate to obfuscate the grievous criminal charges it is facing in Nigeria. The facts of this matter remain that Binance is being inve

EARLIER REPORT.

ROAD TRAFFIC ADVISORY BY  THE FRSC OGUN STATE COMMAND FOLLOWING THE  CRASHED BURNING TANKER  ON THE LONG BRIDGE OF LAGOS - IBADAN EXPRESSWAY ON TUESDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2020  -  MOTORISTS  NOT CLOSE TO THE LONG BRIDGE MAY SEEK FOR POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVE ROUTES AWAY FROM THE LONG BRIDGE INTO OR OUT OF LAGOS  TILL THE TRAFFIC  SITUATION  IMPROVES

Following the unfortunate crash that involved a tanker conveying petroleoum products that engulfed in inferno on the Long Bridge along the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway  on the outward Lagos section of the Expressway. yesterday 26 February 2020.

FRSC operatives mobilized promptly to the scene for rescue operations

Fire Service were equally invited to extinguish the inferno .

The situation impaired traffic and caused gridlock around the long bridge,.which affected motorists especially those driving out of Lagos after closing from the days job.
To cushion the effect on motorists , the  FRSC  temporarily diverted traffic around OPIC , outwards Lagos to one lane of the inward Lagos bound traffic .

The FRSC admonished motorists  ussing  the  lane traffic was  temporary diverted , to obey traffic instructions from traffic officials around the crash scene and urged them to  drive cautiously  and restrict themselves to only the  one lane traffic was temporarily diverted to .

Due to  the time of the crash which coincided with when sone workers were returning home from the day's work as well as  the nature of the crash  which involved inferno from a highly inflammable products that by safety standard, the affected road  was to be closed to traffic   to prevent secondary fire affecting other motorists

Motorists who were  diverted temporarily to the inward Lagos section of the Expressway were advised to drive cautuisky and  also avoid   overtaking  till they are out of the area on the long bridge to the Warewa end of the corridor where the temporary traffic diversion terminated .
The rescue operation continued till 0300am this morning as the inferno kept reigniting after extinguishing it, which made removal of the debris hampered , to enable the FRSC open the affected area and restore motorisation .

Due to the ongoing rescue operations , traffic has been challenged and motorists not close to the Mowe ,Ibafo axis of the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway or those travelling out of Lagos via the Long Bridge may for now avoid the Long Bridge to ease traffic management around the area.

Alternative routes recommended to such category of motorists include those travelling from  Ibadan to turn from Sagamu interchange into Abeokuta to connect Itori, Ifo up to Ota to connect Lagos by Iyana Ipaja.

Those travelling out of Lagos this morning could use the Victoria Island by Ajah to Ijebu Ode to continue their journey.

However motorists  around the Mowe ,Ibafo ,
Warewa axis  ussing the temporary  diversion point on the Long Bridge should restrict their speed to maximum of 50 kilometers per hour , till out of the temporary diversion  point , while the rescue operation continues .
The FRSC Sector Commander, Ogun State Command, Clement Oladele, has empathised with the motoring public and assured that the FRSC operatives would remain at the scene till normalcy is restored .

The Sector Commander, once again advised operators of vehicles used for transporting highly inflamable petroleum products should operate them in strict conformity with safety and operation  standards prescribed by the 1957 United Nations Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangereous Goods by Road (ADR), which Nigeria acceded to as a Contracting Party .
