 DIPHTHERIA OUTBREAK: LAGOS RECORDS 10 CONFIRMED CASES IN THREE MONTHS ... Health Authorities Intensify Response Efforts ... Public Urged to Maintain Hygiene During Festive Period ... Government Partners WHO, UNICEF to Curb Spread Lagos State has recorded 10 confirmed cases of diphtheria between January 1 and March 27, 2025, as health authorities intensify efforts to curb the outbreak. According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, suspected cases have fluctuated over the period, with some days recording as many as 15 cases and others as few as one. Providing an update on the outbreak at the weekend, the Commissioner revealed that laboratory tests conducted on 76 samples confirmed 10 positive cases, while 63 samples returned negative results. "Another three samples collected on March 26 are still pending results", he said. POLICEMAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER KILLING HIS WIFE OVER INFIDELITY IN ONDO STATE.{PHOTOS}.

     Tragedy struck in the Ondo state after a police officer simply identified as Tolulope, allegedly shot his wife dead and later killed himself in their home in Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday March 10th.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the state police command spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro, said it is quite unfortunate that such a thing happened in the state. According to Ikoro, investigations are ongoing into the case as the couple were the only ones at home when the incident happened, so no one can actually say for a fact it was a case of murder and suicide.
However, neighbors of the deceased couple say they have been at loggerheads as the policeman has always accused his wife of cheating on him. The neighbors claim the deceased officer never trusted his wife, accusing her of always receiving different calls from different men.
The couple left behind a three weeks old baby and a two year old child.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
