  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. PTDF SCAMMER BAGS TEN YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR FRAUD+ANOTHER FOR INTERNET FRAUD.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Sokoto Zonal Office on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 secured the conviction of one Mobuse John, before Hon. Justice M S. Sifawa, Chief Judge of the Sokoto State High court sitting in Sokoto, on a one - count charge bordering on Cheating.
The one count charge reads; "That you Mobuse John, sometime in October, 2019 at Sokoto within the judicial division of the High Court of Justice of Sokoto State, committed an offence to wit: Cheating by fraudulently inducing one Usman Ibn Umar to deliver to you the sum of N2,000.00 for PTDF scholarship, past question papers and aptitude test for undergraduate and post-graduate awards in Nigeria Collages of Education, Polytechnics and Universities for 2019/2020 Academic season via a website: http:11 www.pdfscholarship.eu and other members of the public and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 310 (a) of the Sokoto State Penal Code Law 2019 and punishable under Section 311 of the same Law".
Upon arraignment, John pleaded guilty to the charge.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
