 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. LASG ANNOUNCES POSTPONEMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE EXAMINATION.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Lagos State Government, through the State Examinations Board, has announced the indefinite postponement of the Public Service Examination earlier scheduled to hold from Tuesday, 7th April to Tuesday, 14th April, 2020.
According to a statement signed and issued by the Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Supo Gbadegesin, the postponement was a sequel to the Head of Service Circulars: CIR/HOS/’20/Vol. 1/037 dated 20th March, 2020 on curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in Alausa Secretariat and other Government Establishments.
Gbadegesin added that information on the suspension was also contained in “CIR/HOS/’20/Vol. 1/038 dated 20th March, 2020 on Postponement of the Year 2020 Promotion Exercise and Suspension of State Programmes occasioned by the need to take precautionary measures against the Pandemic Corona Virus (COVID 19)”.
He reiterated that as soon as the restriction order by Federal and State Governments are lifted and approval is obtained from the appropriate authorities, the new dates would be duly communicated.
