 CBN releases licensed Deposit Money Banks By Samuel Oamen The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released a comprehensive list of 44 licensed Deposit Money Banks operating within the country. The apex bank made this public in a post on its official website on Tuesday. According to CBN, seven banks, including Zenith Bank, Access Bank, First Bank, First City Monument Bank, United Bank of Africa, Fidelity, and Guaranty Trust Bank, have Commercial Banking licenses with international authorisation as of April 26, 2024. Also, fifteen banks have commercial banking licenses with National Authorisation. Four banks have commercial banking licenses with regional authorisation and four non-interest banks have national authorisation. The bank said the country has six merchant banks licensed with national authorization. It stated that financial holding companies increased to seven.     The former Commissioner for works and Housing in Kano state, Hon. Muazu Magaji, who was sacked last month for celebrating Abba Kyari's death, tests positive for Coronavirus. According to sources ''Kano Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, who was sacked by Governor Umar Ganduje for rejoicing over Abba Kyari’s death has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Ganduje sacked the Commissioner for rejoicing over the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.
Magaji while reacting to Kyari’s death said Nigeria was now free.
The commissioner had claimed that Kyari had so much power that he decided the fate of Nigerians.
However, on Thursday, Magaji revealed that his test result for coronavirus came back positive.He urged Nigerians to pray for him.
Magaji wrote, “This morning my NCDC test result is out. I have been confirmed positive.
“I have been moved to one of the state’s isolation centers. Pray for us.”

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
