 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. POLICE OPERATIVES NAB TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS WHO SPECIALISE IN SNATCHING TRICYCLE(KEKE) IN AWKA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

*Recover two firearms and other incriminating items*
In furtherance with our avowed commitment to stem the tide of crime and other nefarious activities in the State, police operatives attached to Central Police Station(CPS) Awka in conjuction with local vigilante group had on 8/2/2021 at about 8:pm arrested two armed robbery suspects at Parkers, Ziks Avenue,Awka following a distress call.Suspects arrested are as follows,
(i).Okafor Stanley 'm' aged 19years of Ezeawulu village,Nibo and,
(ii).Benedith Sunday 'm' aged 21years of Ifite Village Awkuzu.
Suspects allegedly attacked and snatched at gunpoint a tricycle from a Keke rider at Ziks avenue,Awka.Exhibits recovered in their possessions includes two locally made pistols and the snatched tricycle.
Meanwhile,suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and investigation is ongoing after which they would be brought to justice.The Command reassure "Ndi Anambra" that it will continue to pursue the criminals from all nooks and crannies in the State until they repent or relocate from the State please.
